The Wilmerding YMCA is a full facility branch of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh offering a fully equipped wellness center with cardiovascular, free weight, and selectorized weight equipment. A four-lane swimming pool provides children, families, and seniors a wide range of activities including swim lessons, water exercise and scheduled swim times throughout each week. The facility also features a full-sized gymnasium and classroom space available for a variety of activities.
In the community of Wilmerding and the surrounding areas, the YMCA has played an integral role in the development of youth and families for generations. Situated in the middle of town, the original facility burned to the ground in mid 1970’s. The current facility opened in 1977 and has been serving the community ever since. Not too lon ago, the Wilmerding YMCA underwent some major renovations which enhanced the branch's current offerings and added a state-of-the-art wellness center, family changing/special needs locker rooms, and updated the classroom and lobby spaces.
The volunteers and staff of the Wilmerding YMCA are delighted to have a newly renovated facility and and updated amenities to offer to the community as we continue to reach out with programs for youth, family, and seniors. As it has for over 75 years, the YMCA will play an integral role in the growth and development of families for years to come!
The Wilmerding YMCA offers numerous opportunities to get involved and to volunteer your time in an area that you can make a difference. Whether you enjoy working with kids, have a passion for sports, or are a health and fitness guru, we would be happy to match your skills with our needs. Please call Scott Heasley 412-823-9000 if you are interested in volunteering at the Wilmerding YMCA.
